A few follow-ups …

A reader of yesterday’s post wrote to point out that the link to the video replay of the League of Women Voters’ Forum wasn’t working. Click here for a working link.

Readers also wrote to tell me about two more opportunities to hear from the School Board candidates:

Finally, a reader asked me to clarify how to check the status of your absentee ballot request as I suggested in my July 7 post. This should be more helpful:

  • Go to www.colliervotes.com
  • Place your cursor over “Mail/Absentee” in the red box on the left side of the screen.
  • Move your cursor to the right and down to “Status of Request” and click on this.
  • Then enter the personal identifying information (your last name, birth date and the house number of your residence address) requested on the lower portion of the next screen that appears.
  • Confirm your voter status in the first blue box on the page.
  • Under “Future Elections,” click “Show My Absentee/Mail Ballot Information” and confirm that the ballot destination is correct.
  • If it isn’t, follow up with the SOE immediately at 239-252-VOTE (8683).
I really appreciate reader comments and suggestions. Keep them coming!
