Voters gave Republicans landslide wins in every race on the ballot. Voter turnout was high for a midterm — over 52 percent.

Recently, after a great deal of thought, I decided that after publishing my research on the nonpartisan races and issues, I would share how I plan to vote on them.
Incumbent Commissioner Sandra Lee Buxton and Ed Brandt, pastor at Lely Presbyterian Church, face “ghost candidates” with seemingly no interest in winning or serving in office for two seats on the CMCD Board.
In the Collier County School Board elections, all Collier voters will choose in District 1, Jerry Rutherford or Jory Westberry; in District 3, Kelly Lichter or Jen Mitchell; and in District 5, Timothy Moshier or Roy Terry.

“Conservative America First owns Collier County now! Praise the Lord!” said Collier County Republican State Committeeman and local grocer Alfie Oakes, speaking from the stage of his Seed to Table retail store on Election Night.
As of 9:13 PM on Election Day, with a Collier County voter turnout of 29.7%, the more conservative local candidates consistently won in the closed Republican primaries.
Reg Buxton, Chris Hall, Gerald Lefebvre, and Nancy Lewis are running for the Collier Board of County Commissioners from District 2. Only registered Republicans in District 2 may vote in this election. The winner will face Democrat Bebe Kanter in November.
Arthur Boyer, Jackie Keay, Timothy Moshier, incumbent Roy Terry, and Ana Turino are running for Collier County School Board from District 5. All Collier County voters may vote in this nonpartisan election regardless of where they live or their party affiliation. Election Day is August 23.
